This unprecedented project is part of a massive celebration marking 250 years of American independence, with the event, titled ‘UFC Freedom 250,’ scheduled for June 14. The ambitious setup includes a signature octagon-shaped ring, wire-mesh fencing, and thousands of temporary seats, marking the first time the presidential grounds have hosted a live professional sporting event.

President Donald Trump has championed the project, describing it as the largest event in the organization’s history. The UFC is reportedly investing approximately $60 million into the production. While the event will feature two major championship bouts—Alex Pereira versus Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title and Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje for the lightweight crown—the focus remains on the unique venue. According to UFC president Dana White, the South Lawn will host 4,300 attendees, primarily military personnel, while 85,000 free tickets will be distributed for public viewing at the nearby Ellipse Park.
