South Korean authorities have taken a prominent YouTuber into custody following allegations that he utilized artificial intelligence to fabricate evidence against actor Kim Soo-hyun. The arrest warrant, issued by the Seoul Central District Court, targets Kim Se-ui, the operator of the popular channel Hover Lab, amid concerns that he might attempt to flee or tamper with evidence related to the ongoing investigation.

The controversy stems from claims made on the channel suggesting that the actor had engaged in a relationship with actress Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor. These allegations, which surfaced following the actress’s death, were supported by a voice recording and manipulated text message screenshots. Forensic investigations by police have since determined that the audio was generated using AI technology, and the digital evidence had been systematically altered to damage the actor’s reputation.

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency issued a statement confirming that the investigation has officially cleared the actor of all suspicions, noting that the false claims had severely impacted his professional career and personal well-being. The actor, who has been undergoing psychiatric treatment due to the intense public scrutiny, previously filed criminal complaints against the YouTuber to clear his name.
