A harrowing incident unfolded in Xiaogan, located in China’s Hubei province, when a bridge structure suddenly gave way during a period of intense, prolonged rainfall. The collapse occurred on May 25, leaving a vehicle stranded on the edge of the broken span before it was ultimately swept into the fast-flowing river below.

Eyewitness footage captured the moment the bridge failed, causing the car to plummet into the flood-swollen waters. According to reports from the scene, the vehicle had experienced a mechanical failure while attempting to navigate the area, rendering it unable to reverse to safety before the structure disintegrated.

Despite the severity of the accident, the driver and passengers were able to escape the vehicle before it was fully submerged. The region has been grappling with severe flooding due to heavy seasonal rains, which have put significant strain on local infrastructure and emergency services.
