Israel has completed the deportation of hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists who were detained following the interception of a humanitarian flotilla attempting to reach Gaza. Tensions escalated significantly after footage surfaced showing Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, taunting detained activists who were restrained with their hands tied behind their backs.

European officials have characterized the treatment of the detainees as a violation of fundamental human rights, with some leaders calling for potential sanctions against Ben Gvir.
