The Khasan–Tumangang Bridge is designed to significantly increase the throughput of goods and personnel between the two nations. Russian transport officials have indicated that the crossing is engineered to accommodate up to 300 vehicles daily, representing a substantial upgrade to the previously limited land transit options between the neighbors. With an estimated construction cost exceeding 9 billion rubles, the project is viewed by geopolitical analysts as a permanent fixture intended to facilitate long-term trade and military cooperation, regardless of the current conflict in Ukraine.
